Unlucky opening race for Giovanni Venturini in Misano, for his full time Blancpain GT season with Lamborghini Squadra Corse in Blancpain GT. The Vicenza-based driver, alogside Marco Mapelli in Attempto Race, saw his Lamborghin Huracan GT3 setting the pole in qualifying, but a fuel pression issue forced Mapelli into the pit-lane when He was leading. The race was suspended after few corners for a big accident in sector 2, and at the restart after the safety-car, Mapelli had to pit to solve this issue. In a sprint race, with less than one hour left, the Italian duo had no chance to recover. Didn’t go better unfortunately on Sunday, when Giovanni drove at the start of the race, from the bottom of the grid. Giovanni had puncture in his sting who forced him for an additional pit-stop.

“Of course we’re aiming for more points. The potential was great as shown by Marco in qualy. The pace as well during the race was not bad, but a problem with the fuel pressure and a double puncture forced us for additional pit-stop we hadn’t planned. By the way the feeling with the team is good and I’m confident we can achieve great results during the season, hopefully already from next race in Monza, for the first Endurance race of the year”.
