Giovanni Venturini scored an important podium in Spa-Francorchamps, third 2018 International GT Open round. The 2017 Champion, after a difficult Le Castellet bound last month, got back at the wheel of #63 Imperiale Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3, scoring an important podium in Saturday race, the weekend’s longest. Sharing the seat with Dutchman Jeroen Mul, Giovanni drove at the start of the race leaving the car to Jeroen as race leader in the second stint. Race 2 was a bit more complicated, as Mul started in the middle of the field, and during the pit-stop the Italian Lamborghini Factory Driver had do pay 10 seconds handicap due race-1 podium. Crossing the chequered flag sixth, Giovanni has been promoted fifth due an opponent penalization for track limits, scoring valuable points in the standings, as he’s now 4th with 42 points.

“I’m really happy to be back on the podium after last difficult round in Le Castellet, when we came back home with zero points. Our car wasn’t the best on the Belgian venue, but we’ve been able as team to bring two cars on the podium, taking the maximum from our potential. Ferrari and BMW have been more competitive so far, but we hope next round in Hungary could fit better to our car skills. As well I got good memories over there, as I got my maiden victory in the series, so I hope we can still be able to fight for the title until the end”.
