Venturini-Postiglione (Imperiale Racing,Lamborghini Huracan-GT3 #16)

Giovanni Venturini made a fantastic comeback in Italian GT Championship on the Mugello circuit. The driver from Vicenza, in the national series where he raced between 2015 and 2016 with important results before the International GT Open title in 2017, celebrated two fabulous second places.

Driving the factory Lamborghini Huracan GT3 fielded by Imperiale Racing, and shared with Vito Postiglione, Venturini showed all his speed since the first Friday’s free practice, maintaining the same level of performance during the qualifying.

In race 1, taking the wheel after the pit stop, the Lamborghini Factory Driver could erase the entire gap from the leader. However, the safety-car went in at just five minutes from the end and stayed on track until the chequered flag. Therefore, Giovanni couldn’t try the last assault for the win, which seemed really close.

Starting from the fourth spot in race 2, Venturini drove this time during the first stint and he went back to the box on lap 14. Serving the time handicap of 10 second, awarded for Saturday result, teammate Postiglione completed the job with another second place.

Giovanni Venturini
“Breathing again the familiar atmosphere of Italian GT Championship has been very pleasing, and a great chance to drive my Lamborghini Huracan for another weekend too. The feelings are very positive, with this double podium. I want to say thank to Imperiale team and my mate Vito Postiglione, together we did a fantastic work. There’s just a bit of shame for the safety-car at the end of race 1, which prevented us the chance to conquer a possible win. Now let’s think to the next challenges of the season”.
