Giovanni Venturini achieved his first 24 Hours of Spa. For the Italian driver this has been the longest race ever in his career, as the 4th Blancpain Endurance Series Round was the most famous GT race in the world. Giovanni drove the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Grasser Racing Team, alongside regular teammates Adrian Zaugg and Mirko Bortolotti. After free practice, Venturini hadn’t the chance to run in qualifying as Bortolotti wasn’t able to pass the Superpole cut. Started in last position for the race due engine change, the car n°63 had the chance to recover many positions during the race, fighting for the Top-5 during the night. Unfortunately when the sunrise came, with Zaugg at the wheel the car had an accident who stopped their chance to gain valuable points.

Giovanni Venturini
“Driving at Spa-Francorchamps is always a great feeling, it was exciting with Formula cars and is the same with GT, especially in the night. After Le Castellet, this has been le longest race I had in my life, and I gain a lot of experience as driver in this situation. In Free Practice we went well, but we weren’t able to achieve the same results we set in the collective test last month. Basically we couldn’t warm-up front tyres, but the biggest issue for sure was with the engine, which avoid us from the pole position’s fight. Starting last we did a great recover, but when you are on the edge is normal made some mistakes, which is exactly what happened to Adrian”.
